Hello! I’m Justin D. Kruse, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, trauma specialist, and author. With a deep passion for helping others, I have dedicated my career to providing compassionate and effective therapy services to individuals, couples, and families.

My journey in the field of mental health began with my Master's education in Mental Health Counseling, which provided me with a solid foundation to practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. However, it was my own childhood experiences that unknowingly paved the way for my unique approach to therapy. These experiences taught me the importance of curiosity, trust in the healing process, and the understanding that healing takes time.

Driven by a desire to understand the connection between the mind and body, I enrolled in a 3-year program in Somatic Experiencing with trainer Maggie Kline. This transformative experience deepened my understanding of trauma and its impact on the body. As a therapist with somatic training, I now offer an integrative whole-body approach to psychotherapy. I invite clients to explore their body-based beliefs and release experiences that are held within their bodies. Through this lens, we engage in a holistic relationship between mind, body, brain, and behavior, using interventions to calm the nervous system and create opportunities for healing.

As a co-founder and co-owner of Journeys Toward Healing Counseling Center, I am proud to be a part of a team that is committed to providing comprehensive and holistic care to our clients. Our center offers a safe and inclusive space for individuals of all backgrounds and identities.
